He wonders…

If whispered words for her ears
Tickled the ear of another
And were awkwardly passed along
Through Chinese whispers
Would she eventually hear them
From the mouth of another
And would they still make sense,
Or even mean anything at all…

He averages
One night and one day
A skies distance away
But, he figures, they see the same moon,
Though it be at different times,
And scribbles messages on it’s pale face
For her to read,
When it comes around her way

He believes
Photographs to surely be
The most personal kind of torture
Inflicting on himself
Photographs full of her clouded eyes,
Till he has no choice but to
Press his lips to the screen, and
Welcome the static there

He knows,
And technology states, that
He can message her in a
Second
Whilst wishing he could climb inside
The walls of his computer lines
He concludes,
Eighty six thousand, four hundred seconds within
Twenty four hours
Then I am only, Eighty six thousand, four hundred messages,
Away from her

He finds,
Sometimes,
Her hair is still in his bed
Where he keeps avoiding, failed conclusions,
That missing her is much easier
When she is there beside him,
Not just inside his head.
She gave him something
To fight against
Other than himself...

I wanted to call when I found out what had happened...
