Literature Text

They’ve been at each other all night.
Shouting, screaming, seething
Their children lie in beds across the hall,
Wincing, reading, staring at the ceiling,
One turns and puts her headphones in. LOUD.

In the morning, the atmosphere is thick
And they try to bite through it with sharp words.
Ding dong!
A delivery of 25 roses, red for love... (supposedly)
Well, at least he tried.

Love? Do you even know what that means?
The children who witness your love will grow up
Scarred and cold,
Not knowing how to kiss or hold,
But God, they’ll have a temper.

The shouting carries on.
The music player batteries have run out.
I'm scared for my future. I really am.

:cuddle: What another wonderful piece! I love it

=) There at times is a bad side to everything, yet there is always a good side to anything

( anything... =3 not sure which one to use)

=D You can say, knowing this pain will not inflict it to future children , so you can spare them these feelings

=D I guess that something to work for
